A beer company established to raise funds for a cancer charity has launched a beer-infused cake called Colon the Caterpillar.
Turtle Head Brewing Company, based in Preston, has created a caterpillar-shaped chocolate cake infused with its beer called ‘Smooth’.
Its managing director, Imogen-Rose Gregory, said: “From the outset, our company has always been focused on bringing a bit of fun to the beer industry but with a serious undertone.
“Bringing a beer-infused cake to the market is another way of bringing attention and awareness to cancer while being a bit tongue in cheek. And, of course, everyone knows about caterpillar cakes and how popular they are in supermarkets, although ours won’t be available for children’s parties, and you need to prove you’re old enough to buy it.”
The beer company was cultivated after a family visit to a pub with her brother and father. The trio discussed how to raise funds for the Orange Foundation, a charity they established in memory of Emma Aindow-Gregory, which provides practical support to people living with cancer.
The objective is for Turtle Head Brewing Company to donate 50 per cent of its profits to the family charity, The Orange Foundation.
