Driftwood — Gluten-Free Craft Beer

Driftwood is Turtle Head’s take on the classic British best bitter, brewed gluten-free and finished with a late hop addition that gives it more aroma than you’d typically expect. With 4.2% ABV, it sits in classic best bitter territory and is full enough to feel like a proper pint, without tipping into heavy.

The malt base comes from Maris Otter and Crystal barley, which gives Driftwood its backbone: a rounded, biscuity character with a touch of caramel sweetness running through it. Northdown and Fuggles hops handle the bitterness, both well-established British varieties that bring an earthy, slightly spicy quality that suits a bitter of this type. The late hop addition lifts the aroma above what you’d get from a more conventional brew, adding freshness to what is otherwise a traditionally structured beer.

Driftwood is for anyone who appreciates a proper British bitter but thought gluten-free brewing couldn’t do it justice.
