A gluten-free porter with real depth to it.
Gorilla’s Finger is Turtle Head’s smooth gluten-free porter. At 5.0% ABV, it’s the strongest beer in our range. It’s dark, rich, and made for slow sipping is perfect for times when a pale ale just won’t do.
The unique character of this porter comes from its malt blend. Maris Otter forms the base, Crystal malt brings body and sweetness, and Pale Chocolate malted barley adds most of the flavour. This last malt gives Gorilla’s Finger its dark colour and chocolatey undertone, but without the roasted bitterness you find in a stout. Northdown and Fuggles hops add a balanced, earthy bitterness that lets the malt shine.
The result is a smooth, full-bodied pint that’s easier to drink than you might expect from a porter. The chocolate character comes through on the palate without being heavy-handed, and the finish is clean enough to keep you going back.
Certified gluten-free and suitable for vegans. A portion of every sale goes to The Orange Foundation, supporting people affected by cancer.
Best served slightly warmer than a lager, around 10-12°C, to let the malt flavours open up. Pairs well with dark chocolate, beef stew, or strong cheese.
