Turtle Head Brewing Company partnered with Apex Everest to provide much-needed post-event refreshment at the growing endurance event.
Turtle Head, which was established to help raise funds for The Orange Foundation, a charity that provides practical support for people living with cancer, was also the event’s charity partner.
Oliver Gregory took part in the event and raised £2,750, beating his target of £2,000. With that money, the Orange Foundation can use the funds in a variety of ways. It can fund three people to have eight counselling sessions, or provide patient advocacy support to two people, or offer cosmetic treatments to four people to help alleviate the side effects of cancer treatment. It can even fund diagnostic services.
Oliver was one of the 21 people to complete the circuit, summiting Helvellyn nine times in 41 hours and 30 minutes, coming in 11th place. A huge well done to Oliver for taking on and completing this endurance challenge as a perfect tribute to his mum, Emma Aindow-Gregory.
While Oliver was taking part in the endurance event, Turtle Head Brewing Company laid on a bar for all athletes and supporters. Imogen-Rose Gregory, managing director of Turtle Head Brewing Company, said: “It was a fantastic event – a real community vibe where all participants helped one another and celebrated their achievements. It was rewarding to play a tiny part in the event as a whole.
“I was incredibly proud of my brother Oliver, and I know our mum would have been beaming with pride too. On his behalf, I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who sponsored him and for raising much-needed funds for The Orange Foundation.
“For us, it was a big success, selling out of Bricklayer lager and Ghost pale ale, proving that people really like our beers, so a huge thank you to everyone who bought a beer – you’re doing important charity work!”
